Biographical Information
John was born in West Ayton, Scarborough. In 1911 he was living with his family at 14 Manor Road Scarborough. He lived with his father William Patrick (born in Snainton and aged 53 in 1911) worked as a weights and measures inspector, mother Margaret (born in York and aged 50 in 1911), sister Marguerite (born in York and aged 22 in 1911). John was 11 and still at school at this time. He enlisted in Beverley and was killed in France aged 19.
