Conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty when a hostile raid had penetrated our front line. He and another officer led a counter attack with such vigour that the enemy was our linked and 12 prisoners were taken. He was then placed in the support line which he promptly and successfully reorganised.

Biographical Information

Reginald was born in York, son of Arthur George, a building surveyor, and Maria. In the 1911 census they lived at 7 Holly Terrace, York. He had two siblings, Norah Gladys Theadora and Cecil George. In 1916 Reginald entered Sandhurst as a cadet, joining the King’s (Liverpool) Regiment as an officer in 1917. He was awarded the Military Cross. He was killed in action and his body was not identified.

His father also served in WW1 and was a Captain in the Army Ordnance Dept.
