Born in Hunmanby,(North Moor Farm) nr Filey, North Yorkshire. Listed on the 1901 census as a Waggoner at The Grange Farm, Flamborough.Samuel was father to Herbert who died aged 4 in 1919
Samuel was killed in action
France and Flanders.
