Biographical Information
George was born in Huddersfield. He married Frances Appleby and in 1911 they were living in 104a Longwestgate. They had six children, Jane Elizabeth, Frances, William, Charlotte, Annie and Alice. George was a veteran of the Boer War, was a Reservist and recalled at the outbreak of war. He was killed on the Somme. Frances never remarried and died in 1946. George’s name is on her headstone.
