Biographical Information

Clarence is the son of Elizabeth and James Dobson Park. James (the father) was a sailor.Clarence was born on 15th of July 189. He was baptised on 28 of August 1891.There are two records of Clarence’s baptism. All the details are the same on both records with the exception of the church. One is for St. Mary’s church the other is for Christ church. At the time of his baptism the family were living at 33, St. Mary’s Walk.

The records show that in the third Quarter of 1913 in Knaresborough Clarence married Annie M. Waterhouse.

Clarence joined the Loyal North Lancashire regiment 2nd Battalion and saw action on the Western Front and died of wounds received on July 30th 1918. At the time of his death his address was given as being in Harrogate.

He is interred in Senlis French Cemetery engraved on the stone are the words “ Grant him O Lord Eternal rest. Too dearly loved to be forgot. Mother. Also remembered on Oliver’s Mount war memorial, on St. Mary’s church memorial and on the family stone in Dean Road cemetery. F 121
