Biographical Information

Henry was born in Scarborough, son of James and Adeline. He was the youngest child, with three brothers and two sisters. His mother died when he was 5.

Henry attended Gladstone Road School, and left in 1907, when he went to Canada to study at Wycliffe College, Toronto. In 1914 he enlisted in the Canadian army in Montreal and served in Ypres. He then transferred to 6th Battalion, Yorkshire Regiment. Henry was reported missing in action on 17/1/1917, and his body was never found.
