Biographical Information

Tom was the son of Richard and Hannah, of 11 James St Scarborough. Before enlisting he was a labourer, married to Ethel. At the time of his death his son was two years old. A letter from Lieutenant HP Bagge said Tom had been mortally wounded and had died at 7.30 pm. He said that he was always a good soldier, always did his duty and was very popular with all his comrades and all who had anything to do with him. He was buried close to where he had fallen and he has no marked grave.
