Biographical Information

Son of Arthur Richard Sykes Duffy and Katie of Nottingham. Educated at Pocklington Grammar School. Joined the 5th Btn Yorkshire Regiment in 1912, became Lieutenant in June 1913 and was gazetted Captain on the day of his death, the rank to date from 18th April 1915. He was married to Beatrice of “Deepdale” Meads Eastbourne (daughter of S.H. Holmes JP of Hull) and left one child Arthur Richard, born June 1911. He was a very good all round sportsman.
