Born in Norwich in 1882. 1901 census, parents, James Brown (Pensioner, Civil Service) and wife Emma lived at 126 Haxby Road, York with son Harry, aged 19, working as a Civil Service Surveyor. Parents, living at 8 St John’s Avenue, Scarborough in 1911 census. Sibling, Constance Miriam.
