Son of Alexander (Physician Surgeon) and Annie Bredon

1901 Census
Address given as 50 Aberdeen Walk
Attended privately owned Wheaters Grammar School located in Scarborough at 33 Albemarle Crescent. Stayed at Wheaters until autumn term 1901 when he was sent to Newick House Private School Cheltenham where he stayed until he was 17.
Returned to Scarborough in 1905 to work as a clerk to a local solicitor William Drawbridge located at 74 Newborough.
1910:emigrated to Alberta, Canada finding work as a clerk.
Enlisted into the 49th Edmonton Regiment on 4th January 1915.
Posted to Valcartier Camp February 1915, training base of the Canadian Expeditionary Force Quebec
Arrived in France via Liverpool and Kent
Spent some months at the 8th Stationary Hospital
Shipped back to Britain in September 1916
Returned to France November 1917
Remained in the Ypres sector throughout winter 1917
Reinterred from a battlefield grave to a cemetery close to Tilloy les Mofflanies , now known as Gourock Trench Cemetery a Commonwealth War Grave Cemetery. Section B Grave 8
