FASCINATING NARRATED CEMETERY WALKS 2024
Learn more about your local Cemetery. The Friends of Dean Road and Manor Road Cemetery are offering you the chance to join our narrators, once again, on a variety of Cemetery Walks to learn more about the Cemetery and extraordinary stories of many of the people who are buried here. This is an opportunity to gain an insight into Scarborough’s history with many stories of courage and intrigue.
We have eight Walks available for you to join covering a wide variety of subjects including local history, World War 1, local tragedies, the arts and an opportunity to learn more about this beautiful Victorian Cemetery. There are fascinating facts & funny stories and to be told.
If you are unable to attend after you have booked your walk, please let us know.
There is no cost for attending the Walks, however a donation to the Friends of Dean Road & Manor Road Cemetery would be greatly appreciated at the end of each Walk.
Please be aware that the Walk may take you off the tarmac paths and onto uneven terrain. We suggest suitable footwear is worn when taking part in any of the Walks.
Please meet at the Cross of Sacrifice in front of the Chapel, unless otherwise stated, 10 minutes before your start time. Each one of the Walks will last between 1 and 1.5 hours max.
Please email [email protected] or ring 07961 966617 to book your chosen Walk(s), stating your name and phone number so we can contact you in case the itinerary changes.
